FINAL PROJECT SEM 1

IDP's project for this whole semester leads the the final project at the end of the semester. since the very first project which is the research about the insect, all the way until the last model. first after we did research for the traits and characteristics of the insect we moved foward to making the abstract art based on the keywords, principle, and formal organization of the insect. mine was spider. so my abstract are has a curvy and flowy pattern since it's organic and the keywords are slow, adaptable, extendable, and calm.

then move on to the first model, which is composition of boxes. we had to arrange boxes but also had to pay attention to the vocabularies as well, such as face to face, interlock, stacking, etc. then from that model we had to think about the formal organization for the second model. i put more attention to my hierarchy, which is the biggest box and substracted it into a cylinder. after that we had to think about the context. mine is parasite and hanging, taking the nature of a spider hanging on its web as a support while feeding on its prey. my model was distorted into a warped cylinder to show it's adaptable.  then the next model is to show the openings. i made my model from a cone-like form, a lot of it with different size but still equivalent on the form, making it rythmic.

the last model before the final one is wrong, because i tried to experiment using a clear pvc which is not allowed. then i had an idea to extend my model, not just by stopping the form like my previous model. so it turned out as my last one.

we had to make the context from wiremesh for our last model which is the final one. it's actually quiet hard to bend it because it hurts so bad when it scrapped my hand. we had to make it firm and able to stand by itself, cuz we are going to stack them with another model on the presentation day. we also had to put human figures doing activities inside and around the context.

for the presentation board, we had to put our character, inspiration, backgroundstory, and transformation, alongside the orthographic drawings. it wasn't easy to reach this point where i can finally breathe a little after we actually finished the presentation. overall i learned a lot from my lectureres, the critics and the feedbacks, everything made me improve myself to be better for the upcoming semesters. i know i still lack a lot of things but i can say im quiet proud of myself because i didnt give up and managed to reached this point.
