Community Service Initiative - WEEK 1

The first class of Community Service Initiative which will be shortened to CSI, we were briefed as to what we were going to do for the next whole semester. The whole class is basically a combination of several different semesters from BIA; with us being in the semester 6, and conducted by Mr Edwin and also Mrs Norji.

Our project is to help improve the quality of reading space at Ulu Melaka Orang Asli Village. The students were to do a volunteer work to renovate the interior of an existing mini library in that area. The work were divided into several topics, as the whole class was divided as well into several groups. In total, there are 6 groups that have to work together: Sponsorship, Neighborhood and surrounding, wall and floor transformation, shelves and books arrangements, fun learning aids, Pre + post. Semester 6 were in charge in the sponsorship group.

In order to make it easier, group 6 were also going to be divided into several sub-groups based on the things that we have to search our sponsors from. I am stationed under the stationery group together with my other classmate, Risca, and we are in charge to collect sponsors for stationeries in a form of fund or items.
